WALKING ON COUNTRY | Privacy Policy

This privacy policy governs your use of the software application WALKING ON COUNTRY (“application”) for mobile devices that was created by Queensland University of Technology’s (QUT) Visualisation and Interactive Solutions team (VISER).

This application runs on Google Play Services for AR (ARCore), which is provided by Google and governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

What information does the application obtain and how is it used?

WALKING ON COUNTRY does not log or retain any of your personal details or data from your mobile device.
Personal information is not required, or requested, to download or use the application.

WALKING ON COUNTRY requires camera, location and internet access

Does the application collect precise real-time location information of the device?

This Application does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device.

Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the application?

QUT reserves the right to periodically transmit any aggregated, anonymised data to external services to help us improve the application and our service.

What are my opt-out rights?

You opt-out from the WALKING ON COUNTRY experience by uninstalling the application using the standard uninstall process as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace.

Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information

No user data is collected or retained, aside from data required for the Google Play Services for AR (ARCore), governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Changes

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time for any reason.

Your Consent

By using the application, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this privacy policy now and as amended by us. "Processing,” means using cookies on a computer/handheld device, or using, or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information, all of which activities will take place in Australia. If you reside outside Australia your information will be transferred, processed and stored there under Australian privacy standards.
